Siobhan Dyson has obtained her BMus (Hons) degree in composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is now in her second year of her Masters degree at the same university, studying with composer, Dr. Oliver Searle.
Born in Macclesfield, she developed a passion for composing when her grandfather gave her a keyboard where she was self-taught on piano and starting writing at the early age of ten. During her school days she developed her piano and composition skills and decided that she wanted to pursue a career in composition.
This year Siobhan has had commissions with Sound Scotland where she performed her new work ‘listen carefully’ early this year and her piece ‘History of Wood’ for marimba and double bass.
Siobhan is currently working on a piece for orchestra as well as a soundtrack for a play.
