At its heart is Emma Jane Lloyd, a violinist whose ability to shape and respond to sound creates a mesmerising listening experience. Featuring works by Matthew Whiteside, Rylan Gleave, Émilie Girard-Charest, Egidija Medekšaitė, and Emma Jane Lloyd, the album spans themes of transformation, solitude, and collaboration. Whiteside’s freely, darkly, deeply embraces open-ended interpretation and electronic manipulation, while Gleave’s Small Haven weaves intimate violin lines with haunting electronics. Lloyd’s caprices esquisses push the violin to its limits, embracing wolf tones, subharmonics, and unstable timbres. Girard-Charest’s Mue navigates the fragility of change, and Medekšaitė’s Mishra Pilu unfolds as a hypnotic tapestry of Indian raga-inspired textures.
