United Strings of Europe in Edinburgh

United Strings of Europe return to The Night With… in string quartet format performing a programme featuring a new work from Scottish Composer Aileen Sweeney exploring her combined interests of contemporary classical music and Scottish traditional music alongside the beautifully spectral Quartet No. 2 by Austrian Composer Georg Friedrich Haas. The programme also features music by Matthew Whiteside, Mizzy Misola, anc Caroline Shaw.

Biography:

The United Strings of Europe is a London-based string ensemble founded by violinist Julian Azkoul in 2013, bringing together young professional musicians from across Europe. The ensemble is known for championing new music alongside its multicultural background, and innovative arrangements. USE’s mission is to promote cultural cooperation, explore new musical frontiers, and use music to bridge divides and build understanding
